Does clever code, precise tools, and working on digital solutions with direct, practical value make your heart beat faster? Do you enjoy working analytically and in a structured way, and want to see how your ideas are actually used in everyday practice? Are you willing to invest at least 6 months to become part of a passionate team and experience how newly developed software drives a sustainable industry forward?

Then you're at REAWAKE and theSoftware Development Internshipprecisely!

Start: Available immediately or by arrangement for 9-12 months
Arbeitsort: Beautiful REAWAKE HQ in the heart of Zurich

This exciting and broad field of tasks awaits you:

  • Digital Process Discovery & Tool Integration:You will analyze our business processes along the entire customer journey and their internal counterparts, as well as identify suitable third-party digital solutions (e.g., apps, SaaS tools, integrations). You will participate in the selection process, evaluate features and interfaces, and assist with the technical integration into our existing system landscape.
  • Shopify webshop & ongoing optimization:Continuous development of our Shopify webshop – from theme customizations and structural and UX optimizations to minor technical enhancements. Our goal: improved usability, higher conversion rates, and stable, maintainable code.
  • New community solution (Greenfield):Contribute to the conception and development of a new digital platform for our community. You will support architectural considerations, technology selection, and initial prototypes, and help transform ideas into a usable product.
  • Proprietary tools for internal processes:Conceptualization and development of a proprietary solution for mapping and automating internal processes (e.g., operations, logistics, content). This includes modeling data structures, designing simple interfaces, and setting up lean, digital workflows.
  • Ecosystem & Integrations:Initial considerations for merging the community platform and internal tools, and connecting them to the webshop. You will work on interfaces, data exchange, and a seamless user flow – with the goal of creating a coherent, scalable digital system from several individual solutions.

This is what you bring with you:
  • Solid programming foundation & thirst for learningYou have some initial programming experience (e.g., in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or a comparable language) and a basic understanding of how modern software architectures are structured. Most importantly, you are eager to develop your skills and take responsibility for your code.
  • Interest in the web stack:Prior experience with frontend development (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and common frameworks (e.g. Angular, React or similar) is welcome, but not a requirement – what's more important is that you enjoy web technologies and are eager to learn new tools.
  • Interested in backend, APIs & data?: You enjoy thinking through data models, using lean Backend-as-a-Service solutions (e.g. Firebase) or tinkering with your own approach and working with APIs (e.g. REST/JSON) - or you want to learn exactly that with us.
  • Cloud & Tools (Nice to have):Experience with Google services (e.g., Firebase) or other cloud services is a plus. You generally enjoy working with digital tools and trying out new services.
  • AI as a tool, not as a miracle weapon:You know how to use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot & Co.) wisely and can classify results, but you are also willing to understand things instead of just copying them.
  • Structure & quality standards:You work in a structured, detail-oriented, and quality-conscious manner. Clean data, traceable code, clear communication, and good documentation are important to you.
  • Language & Availability:You speak fluent German or English; good German skills are an advantage, but not essential. You are available for at least 6 months with a workload of 80–100% (100% preferred); 9–12 months is advantageous.
  • Motivation & Impact:You want to use software not only to solve problems, but also to contribute to sustainable, circular consumption and positive impact - tech with purpose motivates you.

This is what REAWAKE offers:
  • An active role in the REAWAKE success story with creative freedom for your ideas.
  • Daily learning, taking responsibility, visible impact
  • A dynamic team that works together towards a common goal and shapes circular fashion in Switzerland.
  • Working with modern tools and scalable solutions

The internship salary is CHF 1,400 for a full-time internship. A successful internship can lead to a permanent position.
