The PST (Petit Shopping Tote) was first designed in the early 2000s by Karl Lagerfeld , then creative director of Chanel. The designer wanted to create a compact version of the classic shopping bag—stylish yet practical enough for an urban lifestyle. The choice of caviar leather was deliberate: it is particularly robust, scratch-resistant, and retains its shape even with daily use. The quilted details, already made famous by the iconic 2.55 bag, were incorporated to maintain the signature Chanel identity. The beige color adds versatility and elegance. The PST Small Tote quickly became a favorite among many Chanel fans because it strikes a perfect balance between functionality and elegance: large enough to hold essentials like a wallet, smartphone, and keys, yet small enough to remain manageable.
