We Love: We love Murakami's designs for Louis Vuitton! Collectibles that are rarely available. Fresh and cheerful, they brighten up our everyday lives.

About: A conversation that lasted only 10 minutes, and the rest is history. In 2002, then-creative director Marc Jacobs invited Takashi Murakami to reinvent the Monogram for its 150th anniversary. Murakami asked Jacobs what he had in mind, to which he simply replied, "I don't know, it doesn't matter, do what you want!" After 300 designs, the decision was made: the Monogram Canvas would be reinterpreted in multicolor. Murakami presented it with a white and black background, which Jacobs immediately loved. The Monogram Multicolor collection was first introduced at the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2003 show. Many other designs followed - Monogram Cherry Blossom, Monogram Cerises, Monogramouflage, and Monogram Panda, to name just a few. Murakami's partnership with Louis Vuitton ended after 12 years with the discontinuation of the Monogram Multicolor line in 2015, making it the brand's longest-running collaboration with an artist.
