The "Poste et Cavalerie" square, designed by Joachim Metz, is one of the classic designs of the House of HERMÈS. Its focal point is not a cavalry scene, but an artistic arrangement of historical saber pockets – decorative coats of arms once worn on military uniforms. These are richly detailed, connected with fine cords, tassels, and metallic-looking embellishments, and arranged in a circle on the cloth.
The centerpiece is a central coat of arms motif, from which artfully knotted cords extend outward. These lend the design structure, rhythm, and a graphically clear appearance that balances between classical heraldry and ornamental lightness.
The color combination of deep green and vibrant pink brings the historical motif to life in a modern way. While the green conveys calm, depth, and a sense of groundedness, the pink adds energy and freshness. Blue accents in the tassels and frames enhance the elegant character of the square.
Made from the finest silk with hand-rolled edges, this square is pleasantly light to wear and can be worn in many different ways – whether around the neck, in the hair or as a stylish accent on a bag.
“Poste et Cavalerie” combines historical symbolism with graphic clarity – a scarf for lovers of fine details, classic motifs and modern color effects.
