This treasure from Christian Dior's Spring/Summer 2019 collection embodies the artistic signature of Maria Grazia Chiuri. Crafted from pure silk, the design captivates with its flowing drape and the multicolored watercolor motif, inspired by hand-painted gradients and experimental dyeing techniques. The color palettes emerged from an elaborate combination of watercolor painting, printing processes, and modern tie-dye effects, lending each design a special depth and lightness. The collection was inspired by the world of contemporary dance and the dynamic interplay of light and color by dance pioneer Loie Fuller.

Maria Grazia Chiuri deliberately reinterpreted tie-dye, detaching the technique from its classic origins. Instead of strong contrasts, soft, kaleidoscope-like color gradients were created, developed in the Dior ateliers through hand-painted motifs, silk scarves, and multiple layered prints. The flowing silhouette and artistic color nuances give this treasure a modern appeal and make it a special example of the connection between craftsmanship, movement, and contemporary Dior design.
