REAWAKE Certificate of Expertise

The REAWAKE Certificate of Expertise is a certificate recognized in the high-end segment to confirm the authenticity of high-quality treasures. First, an important distinction: A formal, legally binding statement regarding the authenticity of a treasure is reserved exclusively for the manufacturer. This is also why we at REAWAKE call this a Certificate of Expertise.

What does a REAWAKE Certificate of Expertise mean?

The REAWAKE Certificate of Expertise states that after a thorough examination of the treasure, the REAWAKE experts have found no evidence that the product is an imitation/imitation, regardless of quality, of an authentic branded product.

How does REWAKE determine whether a product is authentic?

REAWAKE examines more than 10,000 treasures for authenticity each year. In addition to the trust of major, traditional Swiss brands such as Bongénie (formerly Grieder), Jelmoli, and LOEB, appraisers and insurance companies also rely on our expertise.

Each Treasure is inspected for common characteristics: feel, craftsmanship, serial number, brand logos, and other product-specific features. We also believe that the feel of a Treasure is irreplaceable. We have acquired this experience over more than a decade and tens of thousands of inspected Treasures. Please note in this context that REAWAKE follows a rigorous " in doubt, sort out " policy.

Furthermore, every Treasure accepted by REAWAKE is preceded by personal contact with the sales customer. This, along with the expertise and detailed review process, is a decisive advantage.

Of course, REAWAKE also knows the common software/AI tools on the market that support authentication. REAWAKE uses Entrupy as additional information, but never as the sole criterion.

What do I do if I believe a product is not authentic despite the REAWAKE Certificate of Expertise?

You contact us and explain why you believe a product for which a REAWAKE Certificate of Expertise has been issued is not authentic. Our REAWAKE experts will then re-analyze the product, taking your arguments into account, and at the end of the second assessment process, they will inform you of the results and a written explanation.

If we again find no evidence that casts doubt on the product's authenticity, a recognized second expert is required. REAWAKE claims to be the leading appraiser of the authenticity of high-quality second-hand fashion treasures in the DACH region. Furthermore, it should be noted that the final, binding assessment of a product's authenticity in the legal sense can only be made by the manufacturer of the product. Accordingly, we can only accept an assessment by the manufacturer itself that rejects the authenticity of the product as a legally binding refutation of our REAWAKE Certificate of Expertise.

Refund policy

If a product for which a REAWAKE Certificate of Expertise exists turns out to be inauthentic, REAWAKE will reimburse the following costs:

1) REAWAKE product purchase with REAWAKE Certificate of Expertise

We will refund 100% of the price for which a product was purchased from REWAKE with a REAWAKE Certificate of Expertise upon return of the product to REAWAKE. This is subject to the following:

a. REAWAKE order confirmation

b. the purchase can be proven to have taken place less than 3 years ago;

c. Liability/reimbursement beyond the product price is excluded

2) REAWAKE Certificate of Expertise for third-party products

REAWAKE also issues a REAWAKE Certificate of Expertise for products purchased from third parties.

If the authenticity of such a third-party product for which a REAWAKE Certificate of Expertise was issued is found to have been refuted in accordance with the above provisions, REAWAKE will refund the service fee paid for the REAWAKE Certificate of Expertise.

When is a Certificate of Expertise issued?

Not every treasure has a certificate, but it has still been checked by experts.
