Last week, we said ENOUGH.
Enough of buying things just because they are new.
Enough of treating clothing as a disposable product.
But saying "enough" is just the beginning. That is why this week we are asking ourselves a different question:
WIE?
HOW can we reduce our fashion footprint?
To make a change, we don't need a completely new wardrobe. Quite the opposite.
Here’s how:
TRAGE, WAS DU HAST.
You’ve had enough.
Wear it again. Style it differently. Get inspired online for new looks. With wardrobe apps, you can even digitize your closet so you always have an overview of what you already own.
BUY LESS. SECONDHAND FIRST.
If you really have your heart set on something new, look secondhand first. You can find unique treasures there with a history, often for less money and without the need for another new garment to be produced.
MAKE IT LAST.
Take care of what you already own. Wash mindfully, let your clothes air-dry if possible, and educate yourself on how to properly care for different fabrics and materials.
REPAIR, DON’T REPLACE.
A missing button is no reason to say goodbye. Neither is a small hole. Repair, alter, or redesign and have fun doing it. Repairing and upcycling might even become your new favorite hobby.
And if not? Bring your treasure to us at the REAWAKE Atelier. We will take care of it.
WEITERGEBEN.
If you really don't wear something anymore, let it move on. Sell it, trade it, or give it away to someone who will wear it again.
Make disposal your last option.
UND BEVOR SIE KAUFEN, HALTEN SIE INNE.
Do I really need it?
Do I already own something similar?
With how many treasures that I already have can I combine it?
Will I still want to wear it in a year?
And if you are not sure: Wait 24 hours. Often the decision looks quite different the next day.
