Launched in 1997, the Chanel WOC Treasure has since been one of the house's most compact and versatile pieces. The Deauville collection is named after the Norman seaside resort where Coco Chanel opened her second store in 1913 and developed her characteristic design language: masculinely inspired silhouettes made of light, unusual fabrics that gave women an unprecedented freedom of movement. The canvas with the embroidered CHANEL lettering on the front is a direct homage to this heritage.
This Treasure from the 2014/15 collection is crafted in grey canvas with silver-tone hardware and measures approximately 19 x 12 x 4 cm. Behind the flap, a spacious interior opens up with card slots, zip pockets, and slip pockets. The long chain can be worn over the shoulder, as a crossbody, or doubled up as a shorter shoulder strap. If you tuck the chain inside, this Treasure can be carried as a slim clutch. Since 2021, Chanel has officially included the WOC Treasure in its five-year warranty, which shows how the house itself classifies it: as a full member of the Chanel family.
