Alessandro Michele took over as creative director of Gucci in January 2015 and fundamentally transformed the house within a very short time. Where a cool, body-hugging aesthetic had previously dominated, Michele filled the collections with opulent references; art, history, pop and kitsch all at once. The GG Crystal Embellished Tulle Dress Treasure is crafted in Italy from semi-transparent tulle, over which the characteristic GG Supreme pattern is scattered in sparkling crystals. The combination of transparency and embellishment is typical of Michele's approach: he didn't want to decorate, he wanted to enchant.
The split neckline, sheer sleeves, and tulle trim create a look that oscillates between daywear and evening wear. The gold-tone logo clasp at the front adds the final, unmistakable Gucci accent.
