Alessandro Michele took over as creative director of Gucci in January 2015 and fundamentally transformed the house within a very short time. Where a cool, body-hugging aesthetic had previously dominated, Michele filled the collections with references from art history, literature, and pop culture. The GG motif, originally introduced by Guccio Gucci in 1921 as a distinguishing mark, suddenly appeared on silk, embroidery, and jacquard in Michele's hands, embedded in a world of flowers, butterflies, and ancient figures.

This pink silk dress features the embroidered GG pattern as a central design element. Silk has been considered one of the finest fabrics for centuries, which can be immediately felt in the flowing, light quality of this treasure. The dress is made in Italy, where Gucci has been producing since its founding in Florence to this day.
