Hermès was founded in Paris in 1837 by Thierry Hermès as a saddlery, and to this day, this equestrian origin runs through every area of the house, including the ready-to-wear collection. The Hermès Equestrian deerskin jackets were created during the era of Jean Paul Gaultier as creative director, who led the house between 2003 and 2010. Gaultier brought new energy to the ready-to-wear line and translated the house's artisanal heritage into garments intended for both the stable and the city. The deerskin he used for these jackets is one of the softest and lightest of all animal hides.
This treasure in warm brown is crafted from 100% deerskin, which stands out significantly from classic smooth leather jackets due to its exceptionally supple, almost velvety texture. Four mirrored buttons with engraved Hermès letters, two zippered pockets with logo-embossed pulls, and a silk lining with the characteristic H Passant motif are the details that clearly anchor this treasure within the house of Hermès.
