This treasure is based on the Chaine d'Ancre link, one of Hermès' most recognizable motifs. Crafted from 18-karat rose gold, this treasure combines a warm color palette with the striking, interlocking chain link design. Thanks to its length, this treasure can be worn in several ways, such as long and simple or doubled for a layered look.
The Chaine d'Ancre motif was designed in 1938 by Robert Dumas, a member of the Hermès family, after he was inspired by an anchor chain on the coast of Normandy. This maritime observation initially led to a bracelet, from which numerous variations for necklaces, rings, and earrings developed over the decades. Hermès itself was founded in 1837 by Thierry Hermès in Paris and was originally specialized in the production of high-quality horse harnesses, an origin that remains recognizable today in the clear, functional design language of the house.
