HERMES Birkin 32 HAC

We Love: What a legend we can hold in our hands with the HAC! She is radiant, just like her little sisters Kelly and Birkin. We are obsessed!

About: The HAC is also known as Haut à Courroies, meaning "high belt" in French. Designed in the 1800s, it predates the Birkin bag. The original purpose of the Hermès HAC bag was to carry riding equipment such as saddles and boots.
Émile-Maurice Hermès designed the HAC Bag after being inspired by the handbags worn by cowboys in Argentina. Production began in 1892 and became an important part of the story as the Kelly Bag and Birkin Bag were based on the details of the HAC Bag.
And that's why the HAC Bag and the Birkin Bag look so similar.
The HAC Bag is undoubtedly a piece of Hermès history. The bag is also not easy to find because the supply is limited and the demand is just as high as with the Birkin Bag. The price between the HAC and the Birkin Bag does not differ that much.
Also known as Vachette Grainee des Ardennes, this leather is one of Hermès' most durable leathers and is perfect for bags that are used frequently as it is both water and scratch resistant. The processed, thickly grained leather is very dimensionally stable, but the dyes can fade over time. Ardennes is no longer manufactured by Hermès.
