HERMÈS Birkin 35 Clemence Bleu Jean
we love A Hermès icon in fresh colour: Bleu Jean. It turns every outfit into an eye-catcher. Whether combined with jeans or a dress, the soft Clemence leather accompanies us uncomplicatedly through the day.
About: The idea for the Birkin bag was born in 1984 during an Air France flight from Paris to London. When actress Jane Birkin stuffed her signature wicker bag into the overhead bin, the contents spilled onto the seat and the aisle below. As fate would have it (and an accidental upgrade to first class), Birkin was seated next to then HERMÈS CEO Jean-Louis Dumas. After a long discussion about her ideal design and Dumas' recommendation of bags, the English actress scrawled a sketch of what would become the iconic Birkin. Your request? Bigger than the Kelly bag, but smaller than the Serge Gainsbourg suitcase (also from HERMÈS, of course). When Birkin later visited the Hermès atelier to admire the result of this creative exchange, Dumas gifted her the finished bag in exchange for her name - and thus the Birkin Bag was born.
