The Petite Malle Treasure was introduced in 2014 by Nicolas Ghesquière as his first design for Louis Vuitton, a direct homage to the house's trunk-making tradition, which has stood for the art of travel since 1854. Every detail references the history of Louis Vuitton's grand travel trunks: the characteristic trapezoidal shape, the iconic Monogram canvas, the gold-colored S-lock, and the meticulously crafted hardware. Even the sheepskin lining features the classic Malletage motif, a fine diamond pattern that originally protected the interior of the house's travel trunks.

Measuring 20 x 12.5 x 6 cm, the Treasure, despite its compact silhouette, offers space for a smartphone, card holder, keys, and lipstick. The trim of smooth calf leather, the gold-colored hardware, and the detachable, adjustable shoulder strap give this Treasure its particular versatility, whether carried as a clutch or diagonally over the shoulder. The leather used comes from a tannery certified by the Leather Working Group with the highest environmental standard, a detail that adds an additional, contemporary value to the Treasure.
